ACHIEVING SAFETY THROUGH THE TWO-DAY SAFETY SEMINAR




MALATE, MANILA, June 25-26, 2025—FAIR Shipping Corporation and Fukujin Kisen Co. Ltd. teamed-up again for this year’s Safety Seminar held at the FSC Training Center.
The seminar was graced by the top management of FJL, Mr. Toshiyuki Seno, Chairman and Capt. Masafumi Shinohara, Senior Managing Executive Officer. Likewise, the Chairman of FAIR Shipping Corporation, Capt. Wonki Min was present in the seminar.
Among the resource speakers who shared their knowledge and skills are Capt. Takuzo Okada for the topic Bridge and Engine Room Resource Management, Mr. Nao Fujita on Crew Sickness and Injury, Ms. Mizuki Harada on the review of Safety Management System, Capt. Achilles Cuadra Jr. who presented a Case Study about Allision in the Jetty, and Mr. Lee Dae Sin for Engine Operations Maintenance.
The Safety Seminar is part of the company’s continuing effort to enhance safety culture, operational performance, and crew competency. The sessions were designed not only to revisit theoretical frameworks of safety and risk management but also to integrate lessons from real-life incidents and promote a proactive safety mindset. The seminar featured a series of presentations, case studies, and open forums which aimed to equip participants with practical tools for improving communication, teamwork, and operational vigilance onboard.
The participants, composed of 35 Deck Officers and 45 Engineers, had demonstrated attentiveness and proactivity during the lectures and group discussions. The majority of them had commented that the topics presented were highly relevant and impactful and requested for a longer time for the Question-and-Answer portion, more case studies, and more frequent refresher sessions.
