7. ISPS - SHIP SECURITY OFFICER
(SSO) COURSE
This Programme aims to enhance implementation of
the IMO maritime security measures, including the
International Ship and Port Facility Security
(ISPS) Code, which were adopted in 2002 and
entered into force on 1 July 2004.
The three-day courses will focus on developing the
trainees on maritime security knowledge so that
the implementation of the ISPS code are maintained
effectively.
Competencies to be achieved

Maintain and supervise the implementation of the
Ship Security Plan

Assess security risk, threat and vulnerability

Undertake regular inspections of the ship to
ensure appropriate security measures are
implemented

Ensure that security equipment and systems are
properly operated, tested and maintained
