12. ARPA, RADAR SIMULATOR AND COLLISION AVOIDANCE COURSE

A two (2) days course for proficiency and competency of Deck Officer in Navigation and Ship Maneuvering conducted in Lecture, Demonstration, Exercises, Videotel showing and with the use of PC Based Computer Programs which includes the following subjects:

      -   ARPA Principles and Safe Operation
      -   True and Relative Plot
      -   International Regulations for Preventing Collisions
          at Sea 1972 (COLREGS '72)
      -   Exercises on Collision Avoidance by the Radar Simulator
