ECDIS IS NOW A PRC REQUIREMENT FOR RENEWAL OF DECK OFFICER'S COC

An Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) is a computer-base navigation information system that complies with International Maritime Organization (IMO)regulations and can be used as an alternative to paper navigation charts.

All of the newly build/delivered vessels this millennium have been fitted with ECDIS to ensure safe and effective navigation system; and Port State Control (PSC) ensures that all officers onboard are duly qualified and certificated use of the ECDIS.

The Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC), effective this January 2010, are also requiring all newly passed officers and those whose Certificate of Competency (COC) is for renewal to hold a training certificate of ECDIS. The PRC will only issue COC, WITH LIMITATION, without ECDIS certificate.

All deck officers must enroll ECDIS to avoid deficiency during PSC inspection and for your COC to be issued WITHOUT LIMITATION.

FSC Training Center, Inc. is a duly accredited training center for ECDIS training course. It conducts training every week with the ECDIS training duration of five (5) days.
